Privacy policy – SQL Trainer: Daily Drills

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Deutsche Fassung weiter unten

This policy describes what data the app “SQL Trainer: Daily Drills” (“the app”) processes. In short: the app collects no personal data and has no account, no ads and no tracking. Your learning progress stays on your device.

1. Controller

2. Storage on your device

Your progress (solved exercises, level, streak), your settings (such as language, SQL dialect, reminder time) and whether Pro is unlocked are stored only on your device. This data is never sent to me or to anyone else. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

3. No connection to my own servers

The app runs no servers of its own and sends no data to me. The databases you practise on are part of the app and run on your device: PostgreSQL and SQLite in the device's built-in web view component, MySQL, SQL Server and Oracle as simulations inside the app. The app uses the “Internet” permission only to hand PostgreSQL and SQLite their files through a connection to 127.0.0.1, i.e. the device itself. That connection never leaves the device; the exercises and the queries you type stay on it. The app contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising software.

4. Pro purchase through Google Play

The app offers a one-time purchase (“Pro”). The purchase and payment are handled entirely by Google Play, which is responsible for them. I receive no payment details. On your device, the app only asks Google Play whether you own Pro, to unlock the content. Google provides me with order details (such as order number, country, price); I use them only for accounting and tax. The legal basis is the performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The Google Privacy Policy applies.

5. Features you start yourself

Feedback by email

“Send feedback directly to the developer” opens your email app with a prepared message to feedback@afflatus.company. Below your text it adds technical details that help me find problems: app version, operating system, display language, whether Pro is unlocked, and the current and the most played SQL dialect with level and experience points. You see and can edit everything before sending; nothing is sent unless you tap “Send” yourself. I use your email address and message only to answer you and improve the app, and delete them when they are no longer needed for that. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in handling your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Emails to me

Emails you send to support@afflatus.company, feedback@afflatus.company or legal@afflatus.company are stored with my email provider STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany, which processes them on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). The servers are in Germany; no data is transferred to countries outside the EU.

Sharing

When you share an image (for example a solved exercise or a crown), the app hands it to your device’s share menu. You decide where it goes; the app itself sends nothing.

Rating

The app may ask for a rating through Google Play’s review dialog or open the store page. Google processes the rating; the app does not learn whether or how you rate it.

Reminders

Daily practice reminders are optional and scheduled on your device. For them the app uses the permissions for notifications, for device restart (to schedule the reminder again afterwards) and for vibration. No data is transmitted.

6. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Write to legal@afflatus.company. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one responsible for me, the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.

8. Changes

If the way the app handles data changes, I will update this policy first. The version published here applies.

Datenschutzerklärung – SQL Trainer: Daily Drills

Stand: 28. Oktober 2026

Diese Erklärung beschreibt, welche Daten die App „SQL Trainer: Daily Drills“ (im Folgenden „die App“) verarbeitet. Kurz gesagt: Die App sammelt keine personenbezogenen Daten, hat kein Nutzerkonto, keine Werbung und kein Tracking. Dein Lernfortschritt bleibt auf deinem Gerät.

1. Verantwortlicher

Johannes Groß
Afflatus
Carl-Troll-Straße 65
53115 Bonn
Deutschland
E-Mail: legal@afflatus.company

2. Speicherung auf deinem Gerät

Dein Fortschritt (gelöste Aufgaben, Level, Serie), deine Einstellungen (z.

E-Mails an mich

7. Deine Rechte

Du hast nach der DSGVO das Recht auf Auskunft, Berichtigung, Löschung, Einschränkung der Verarbeitung, Datenübertragbarkeit und Widerspruch. Schreib dazu an legal@afflatus.company.
